Wednesday, April 27, 2011 @ What If The Tables Were Turned......?
So, Ive been hearing a lot of bickering going back and forth between Tyler perry and spike lee as probably others have as well. spike calling his movies coonery and buffoonery and what not. well Tyler was on the mo'nique show last night and he made one good point that stuck out to me.

It seems as if us (the black community) are the only race of people that will tear each other down and ridicule one another which is maybe why we cant move ahead in the world as a whole as other races have.

He said you don't see the Jews down talking and stereotyping Seinfeld or the Italians jeering the soprano's yet when it comes to us we're the only ones who will do that and it's so true. why is that?

It puts me in the mind of this Lupe Fiasco song called "all black everything" basically putting a twist on the whole black and white thing.

What if we (our African ancestors) were never taken from our homes in Africa?

What if we were the ones that wrote and signed the Constitution?

What if there was no civil war?

If we did stay in African would there be such a thing as queens and kings as there are in Europe?

Would Africa be one of the richest continents on earth?

What type of impact would we have had on history and the present right now if that HAD happened?

Just some of the questions that popped into my head after hearing this song over and over and over.

It's really sad that even today we still cant get it together as a whole which is why we're still being talked down about and stereotyped.

I get tired of hearing the same old cliches "we got to do better" and "its time for a change" because that's all it is....talk. no one wants to step up to the plate and be first at bat for that change so until then i guess we'll continue to take steps further back and further back.
