Wednesday, February 16, 2011 @ It's Just Me.....Again

I tried to hold off putting this shot up for a while b/c i really had to do some thinking on this one. In my personal opinion i think it's one of the best (and also few) self portraits I've taken of myself in a while.

Like I've said before i really don't like getting in front of the camera sometimes b/c i just feel like I'm not made for it so to speak if that makes any sense.

As you can see i put my little motto up that i came up with a long time ago when i got my first DSLR.

I've gotten many compliments on my work and even been told i have an "eagles eye" when it comes to taking certain kind of shots.

For those who have been following me for the past few years or at least since my last two camera i think can vouch that I've come a long way. learning just about everything about photography by trail and error and studying others work on here and other places.

I'm by no means a professional even if i have all this equipment but this is really the first hobby I've had that I've been THIS passionate about and stuck to for this long.

There isn't a better feeling i get than going back and viewing past shots or events i covered and looking at where I'm at now and being like "damn....i did that" its a plus that others take notice to my work as well, which is why i guess I'm going to be one of my churches official photographers now.

i can only see myself going up from this point in this and other ventures that I'm going to get into.

But this shot right here....i just love it....who knows....maybe it'll be on my business cards one day lol....wishful thinking.

Saturday, February 12, 2011 @ Second Christmas
So i always think of tax season as a second Christmas for some folks b/c soon as they get that money you see them with new this and new that....just like a second Christmas.

Well it wasn't any exception for me either...that being said i took some of my money and invested it in my photography hobby and upgraded my equipment, ill post some pics at the end. I ended up getting a Canon t1i....15 MP, full HD movie mode@1080 and 720....this makes my THIRD DSLR.

Also went ahead and ordered an external flash, especially needed one for when i shoot certain kind of shots in low lig
ht or at night. and lastly i ordered me a 50mm lens...or nifty fifty as their called....along with some other nick knacks. i must say, besides my car this is the second best investment I've made in a long time.

You just have no idea how long I've been wanting this stuff, ESPECIALLY for my family reunion in July up in NY/NJ. So
that's why I've been doing a lot of reading up on the subject at hand trying to get as much practice as i can as well as learn new techniques to get the perfect shot every time.

I got a cousin that models and i told her once i get everything, she better be ready b/c I'm going on a shooting spree with her lol.

One thing that's been bothering me though this whole process is that sure i li
ke to take pics of random things but i know a few shots of myself should be included in it but.....for some reason i just don't like taking shots of myself. For some reason i just don't think i was made to be in front of the camera, maybe I'm being hard on myself, i don't know.

But I'm still sticking by my motto "if a picture is worth a thousand words then I'd rather let my camera do the talking for me"......

But other than that everything else has been copesthetic. Still working....3 years with the job in June....had my car for over a year now...and still ain't been late on not one payment....i mean I'm just been blessed all around and
plan on keeping it that way for me and my loved ones around me. But as i promised here's a few shots of my new toys and HD video i did.
